Wolves star Adama Traore has made his choice in the GOAT debate between Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo and insists no one comes close to the Argentinian.
Messi and Traore played at Barcelona as the Wolves star came through the ranks at the Spanish club and he even returned there for a spell later in his career.
He now plays in the Premier League, with Messi pondering a return to Camp Nou at the end of this campaign after falling out with PSG fans.
Messi won the World Cup last year, a feat that Ronaldo is unlikely to match, considering his age and when the next competition will hold, but some fans would still argue that the Portugal star is the GOAT.
Traore has worked with Messi and knows the qualities the Argentinian possesses and insists that the Barcelona legend is simply the best player in the history of the game.
He said: “Lionel Messi. For me he’s one of the best players in history. A part of being talented is he likes to work, work hard, the touch he has, the quick feet, the control and vision on the pitch. Every ball comes to his feet and he never missed, that was impressive.”
Messi was in his best form when he played for Barcelona, so he will likely only enjoy his football again if he returns to the Spanish club, which is why he is most likely heading back in the summer.
