Strasbourg head coach Frédéric Antonetti had nothing but praise when speaking about Lionel Messi before their Ligue 1 clash against PSG.
Strasbourg were handed a lifeline after the team presented a valiant display on the pitch. A month ago, they were deep in the race for relegation but a few good performances confirmed their stay in the Ligue 1.
However, the campaign is not over, they still have to face the league leader and potential winners this weekend.
Paris Saint Germain will come to the Stade de la Meinau in hopes of winning the Ligue 1 title. The Parisians only need one point to claim the Ligue 1 trophy. Ahead of the fixture, Strasbourg manager Frédéric Antonetti spoke on the treatment that the World Cup winner Lionel Messi is receiving at PSG.
The Strasbourg manager praised the 35 year old as he called him ‘Mr. football’.
“Messi is football, he is Mr. football.”
Antonetti added, that there is not one person in the world that understand the sport better than Lionel Messi,
“He breathes football. It is true that he walks a bit, but even walking he understands football better than anyone.”
Lionel Messi will be part of the PSG squad alongside Kylian Mbappe when they play Strasbourg in the away fixture. The Parisians only need a draw to win the league. With only two games left in the campaign, it is very unlikely that PSG will fail.
While Kylian Mbappe is leading the race with most goals in the league, Messi has put up attractive numbers himself, scoring 20 goals and 20 assists in the season(all competition) so far.
