Former Argentina striker Sergio Aguero has once again played down the quality of Cristiano Ronaldo’s goals for Real Madrid.
The Portuguese ace is Real Madrid’s all-time top scorer, scoring 450 goals in 438 games. He helped them win four UEFA Champions League trophies and two La Liga titles, among other honours.
The Portuguese forward scored some sensational goals for Los Blancos, including solo runs, free-kicks, counter-attacking goals, long rangers, etc. He also scored one of the best goals of his career in a Madrid shirt–an overhead kick against Juventus in the Champions League, which drew applause even from the Bianconeri fans.
Despite this, former Manchester City striker Aguero believes Karim Benzema and Raul’s goals for Los Blancos were better.
“Raul & Benzema have scored better goals for Madrid than Cristiano Ronaldo,” Aguero said via @theMadridZone
Aguero’s comments come after recently claiming that the five-time Ballon d’Or was lucky” after watching a compilation of his free-kicks for the Spanish giants.
It is no surprise that Aguero will not appreciate the brilliance of Ronaldo, given that he is a close pal of Messi. However, the Argentine’s comments comes across as salty and show that he is jealous of Ronaldo’s achievements.
If you ask a player who sees Aguero as his hero about the rivalry, that individual will pick CR7 as the best among them. Make no mistake, both players are accomplished in their own right and they have mutual respect for each other on and off the pitch.
