Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski has revealed the details of his conversation with Paris Saint-Germain superstar Lionel Messi at the Laureus Sports Awards.

Both men recently met at the Laureus Sports Awards gala and were captured deep in conversation during the event.

Many were speculating about what both superstars were discussing during the event, with many saying that Lewandowski was trying to woo Messi back to Camp Nou.

The Argentina captain will become a free agent when his contract at PSG expires this summer, and he has been linked with a return to Barcelona. The Catalan club have been open about their desire to sign him and are even making special arrangements with La Liga that will allow them to register Messi.

However, Lewandowski has given insight into what they discussed during their chance meeting at the awards.

According to the Pole, both men talked about Barcelona, and the Argentine’s ‘eyes lit up’ when the subject was brought up.

Lewandowski also says he hopes the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner returns to Camp Nou in the upcoming summer.

“When I told him about Barcelona, his eyes lit up,” Robert Lewandowski said as quoted by Barca Blaugranes.

“I know what Messi means for Barcelona,” he added. “When you think of Barcelona, you say Messi, and when you think of Messi, you say Barça. I also know what value Leo would bring to our team, not only on the field but also for the whole club.”

Lewandowski also explained why he would like to play alongside Messi.

“I’ve always liked playing with players who understand football. And Leo is top-notch. Also, Messi has changed his style of play a bit in recent years. Today, he is more of a’ 10′, a midfielder,” the former Bayern Munich star said.

A partnership between Lionel Messi and Robert Lewandowski will be entertaining.

The Polish striker is a world-class goal scorer whose 23 goals and six assists in the league has helped Barcelona to the La Liga title.

Meanwhile, Messi has been equally impressive in France, scoring 20 goals and assisting 20.

Should they link up, you can expect goals to flow.
