“His place is here in Barcelona” – Robert Lewandowski is Passionate about Lionel Messi’s Return to Camp Nou

April 11, 2023

Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski believes that Barcelona is where Lionel Messi belongs, even though he isn’t sure if it is on the cards.

Even at 35, Lionel Messi is still the hottest card in European football. The talent and longevity of the PSG forward make him not only an easy transfer target to clubs but also a very expensive one.

As Lionel Messi’s partnership with PSG near the end, the Argentinian is on the verge to make a career-changing decision. Despite having several options to choose from, a return to Barcelona will be the more suitable and satisfying one.

Messi’s former teammates, club management, and of course the fans are doing everything they can to bring back the World Cup winner. During the infamous Copa del Rey semifinal, the fans were witnessed chanting the name of their beloved star despite the team losing to rivals Real Madrid.

Recently, Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski spoke on the hype of Messi’s return. While speaking to Mundo Deportivo, Lewandowski had this to say on Lionel Messi’s potential Barca return:

“Messi belongs to Barca, and if he comes back, it will be something incredible. We know that his place is here in Barcelona. I don’t know what will happen, but I hope that next season we can play together.”

Either he can go beyond Europe to let’s say Saudi Arabia where he is currently valued at a whopping €400m by Saudi PL club Al-Hilal or he can join David Beckham’s inter Miami. The former England captain has been very openly interested in signing Messi or Ronaldo for a long time. As reported by The Independent, Lionel Messi will be offered an equity stake at the club along with a hefty paycheck, if he joins Inter Miami.
