Vedat Muriqi of RCD Mallorca is valued at around €20 million, and La Liga winners Real Madrid are allegedly mulling over a January transfer for him
Real Madrid is reportedly interested in signing Vedat Muriqi, as reported by the Spanish media site Fichajes. When the transfer market opens in January, RCD Mallorca will let Los Blancos sign their Kosovan striker for €20 million.
Since signing with RCD Mallorca from Lazio, Vedat Muriqi’s career has reached new heights. The 28-year-old’s previous spells mirrored his current one with the Spanish club: uneven results. However, following a productive season in 2021/22 with Mallorca, he made the move permanent that summer.
The Kosovan international has had an outstanding 2022/23 campaign, scoring eight goals and assisting once in 12 matches. Furthermore, Real Madrid aren’t the only ones who have spotted Muriqi’s promising play; a number of other teams have their eyes set on him as well.
The current La Liga champions seldom make any signings during the month of January. Real Madrid may need to make a last-minute addition to their roster if Karim Benzema continues to have physical problems. That’s because Carlo Ancelotti doesn’t have any use for Mariano Diaz. Additionally, Rodrygo Goes has shown promise at the forward position, although his natural position is on the right flank.
Real Madrid should thus acquire a striker during the next January transfer window. And with rumours swirling about Mariano’s future with Lazio, Los Blancos might have an offensive spot to fill. The January transfer window presents Real Madrid with an opportunity to pursue Muriqi. The Kosovo striker won’t break the bank, either.
The 28-year-old’s contract with RCD Mallorca has a €38 million release clause. However, Los Piratas is expected to make a transfer to Real Madrid for roughly €20 million. That’s why clubs like Aston Villa are interested in signing Muriqi.
If the Kosovar international values playing time above all else, he must decide whether to stay at Mallorca or join Aston Villa. Nonetheless, the opportunity to wear the Real Madrid jersey only presents itself once in a lifetime, putting Muriqi in a difficult position.
