Real Madrid is reportedly willing to welcome Cristiano Ronaldo back to the club, but not as a player.
After growing frustrated at the club, the Portuguese superstar reportedly wants to leave Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr. He wants to return to Europe less than six months after signing for the club from Manchester United.
His former club Real Madrid have been mooted as the possible destination for the 37-year-old, who spent nine successful years at the Santiago Bernabeu.
However, the Spanish club’s president Florentino Perez is open to welcoming Ronaldo back to Santiago Bernabeu only if the Portuguese are willing to come in an administrative role.
This is according to a recent report by Defensa Central via Sportskeeda, who claim that Perez isn’t interested in the playing services of Ronaldo but is ready to welcome him back as a club ambassador.
Real Madrid legends like Raul and Luis Figo, among others, have previously worked in such roles.
Ronaldo is a bonafide Los Blancos legend, scoring 450 goals in 438 matches. He was part of the team that conquered Europe, winning three UEFA Champions League titles in a row. The five-time Ballon d’Or winner won four UCL titles with Madrid, among other trophies, before leaving in 2018.
