In line with expectations, Lionel Messi made his Major League Soccer debut by scoring a goal in front of a delighted away crowd of Inter Miami supporters.
Messi’s creation and completion of the goal in the 89th minute of play, which practically sealed the victory, made it even sweeter.
However, prior to the game, his former PSG fans made sure to express their displeasure with the Argentinian star’s departure by erecting an anti-Messi banner outside the DRV PNK stadium.

The Parisian club’s ultras have previously been vocal about their dislike of Messi, protesting his unapproved travel to Saudi Arabia last season.
The PSG fan base has a history of animosity against Lionel Messi, and it appears that they were finally pleased to lose the World Cup-winning Argentine.
In a recent interview, he discussed a “break” with PSG supporters while describing his struggles to fit in with the Ligue 1 winners.
By winning the Leagues Cup with his Inter Miami teammates, Messi appears to have had little trouble adjusting to life in the United States today. He has now had the best possible start in the MLS as well.
The PSG ultras have historically been brutal in their treatment of other players at the club, with Neymar coming under a lot of fire from their side as well.
In any event, Lionel Messi continues to amaze in the United States with a newfound home at Inter Miami, so it doesn’t appear like the bridges between Messi and PSG supporters will be rebuilt any time soon.
