Paris Saint-Germain is reportedly trying to sign decorated Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva in the summer of 2024.
Despite Silva favoring a move to Barcelona for the past few seasons, the financial situation of the Catalan giants somehow ruins it every time. The pacy midfielder can prove to be a great addition to the weaponry of Xavi and strengthen the march towards a deep run in European competitions. The Spanish manager is aware of Silva’s brilliance and has been urging the Blaugrana board to sign the Portuguese international since November 2021.
But the deal seems almost impossible as the asking price of City and Barcelona’s economic situation doesn’t form a bridge.
Although he is on contract with Manchester City until June 2025, Pep Guardiola could move out of the way if Silva decides to walk out, but only at a good price.
The talented Portuguese midfielder has four Premier League titles under his belt, with 33 goals in 191 games for the English giants.
This situation has attracted PSG into the picture, with the French giants keeping a close eye on the developments at Etihad. And the 10-time Ligue 1 champions are well-loaded to meet City’s demand for Silva. In addition to the Portuguese main man, Paris has Ousmane Dembele of Barcelona in their crosshairs for the summer, reports Diario Sport.
With Barca failing to meet the $65 million valuation, Silva might make the French move despite being reluctant at the moment. They are hoping to convince the midfielder with a lucrative deal, as PSG director Luis Campos and Bernardo’s agent, Jorge Mendes, already have a positive relationship. The arrival of Silva and Dembele can be an effective reinforcement for their arsenal in their bid for the Champions League.
