With Paris Saint Germain apparently aiming to sell the forward in the summer, Neymar Jr’s future is once more a topic of discussion.
Despite being in excellent form this year, Neymar took the brunt of the criticism directed at PSG following their subpar performance in the 3-1 loss to Monaco. According to reports, the defeat sparked numerous altercations on the field and in the locker room, with Neymar once again in the center of contention.
The current Ligue 1 champions are reportedly looking to split ways with the player they spent a world record £196 million on five and a half years ago, according to Spanish news site AS.
The relationship between the two sides is said to have soured as a result of Neymar’s involvement in the club’s loss to Monaco and his conduct towards his teammates and sports director Luis Campos.
Fan video from the match against Monaco showed Neymar yelling at teammate Vitinha after not getting the ball from the Portuguese midfielder.
According to other reports, Neymar was also upset with Hugo Ekitike, with several players from Monaco shocked with what they heard from the Brazilian superstar towards Ekitike.
FC Barcelona are emerging as hot favorites to sign the Brazilian superstar as they will look to possibly sell out of form youngster Ansu Fati.
Clubs such as Real Madrid, Manchester City, Manchester United and Newcastle are all believed to be in the running for the forward if PSG decide to part ways with Neymar. The only problem that Neymar will face while finding a new club is his mammoth salary of £40 million per year.
