Paris Saint-Germain superstar Neymar has sparked a controversy that he could be on his way out of the club this summer after his social media activities.
The Brazilian is one of the highest-paid players among the PSG squad after joining the Parisians for a £198 million world record deal from Barcelona in 2017.
However, despite several seasons at the club and many silverwares, he remains a divisive figure, with Les Parisian’s faithful often criticising him.
Yesterday he further complicated his relationship with the club’s supporters when he appeared to like two social media posts calling for him to leave.
This came after the fallout of Lionel Messi’s unauthorised visit to Saudi Arabia on Monday after their shock 3-1 loss to Lorient at the weekend.
The club suspended the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner for two weeks and fined him. But PSG fans were not satisfied with the punishment, so they met outside the club’s headquarters to protest against Messi, chanting and calling him names.
But the 35-year-old wasn’t the only one subjected to the name-calling, as hoards of fans gathered outside Neymar’s house to chant for the Brazilian to ‘get lost.’
And it seems he might heed those words, as it has emerged that he liked a post that described PSG as a ‘small club with a minimal history.’
He also liked a post of him and Messi embracing in their Barca days, with the caption, “I know you were thinking the same thing. They were VERY happy at that time!”
PSG will struggle to offload Neymar in the summer, given the huge wages he earns at the club and will likely demand elsewhere.
