Neymar and Luis Suarez face timed to offer support to former teammate and ‘friend’ Lionel Messi as he was ‘booed’ and ‘whistled’ by the PSG crowd

May 14, 2023

Lionel Messi was booed and whistled by the French crowd in PSG’s 5-0 victory over Ajaccio. But the Argentine had his former Barcelona teammates Neymar and Luis Suarez in the stands cheering for the 35-year-old.

The disrespect to Messi was expected as his unauthorized trip to Saudi Arabia has left a stain on his relationship with France.

Fortunately, Lionel Messi was relieved of PSG Ultras as they boycotted the game after the club warned them of their actions.

But still, fans present in the stadium showed their discomfort every time Lionel Messi touched the ball. Messi was subjected to whistles and wild boos whenever he came close to the crowd for a corner kick.

Two former Barcelona stars showed true support for their friend. Neymar shared on social media as he face-timed Luis Suarez to watch the return of their ‘friend’ Lionel Messi.

In his Instagram story, Neymar shared the facetime images captioning: “Watching our friend together.”

The three Barcelona trio famously called MSN entertained the fans for a brief but exciting period of time. They managed to score well-choreographed goals while also helping Barcelona win prestigious honors including the Champions League and Laliga.

The trio ended when Neymar left for PSG in 2017.

In the game, PSG looked flawless. Kylian Mbappe, Fabian Ruiz, and Achraf Hakimi all got onto the scoresheet while Lionel Messi played a decent role in the middle. The match concluded with Paris Saint Germain winning by 5 goals.

The club is now six points clear from second place Lens. With only three games left in the season, it would be unlikely for Lens to challenge the defending champions for the 1st spot.
