Midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek would want to sign a new deal with Chelsea

Give me sport reports that Chelsea midfielder Ruben Loftus-Cheek would want to remain with the club for the foreseeable future. The 26-year-old has been given significant playing time so far this season and has maintained his fitness.

As a result of Chelsea’s current midfield dilemma, Loftus-Cheek has been given the opportunity to start 12 Premier League games. Thomas Tuchel, and now current manager Graham Potter, have used him in a variety of roles.

The Chelsea academy product made a mark in the centre of the field with two loan appearances with London teams Crystal Palace and London.

AC Milan, a club in Italy, is apparently interested in signing him after hearing about his impressive performance. The Italian club is confident in the player’s abilities and hopes he will achieve the same success as Fikayo Tomori, another former Blues player who found great success after making the move to the San Siro on a permanent basis.

The Blues cannot afford to lose the player in the middle of the season, especially with N’Golo Kante and Jorginho’s futures uncertain. His current contract is set to expire in 2024, and there is a one-year extension option.

The Blues leadership may approach him about a contract since they will need his Premier League expertise in the event of an emergency. He hoped to make Gareth Southgate’s World Cup team, but competition from the likes of Declan Rice and Jude Bellingham complicated his selection.

Eminent journalist Simon Phillips believes the player is very keen to stay at Stamford Bridge.

He said: “It’s an interesting one because not so long ago they were talking about extending his contract and they were going to sit down with him and do that. Loftus-Cheek, in his eyes, he wants to stay at Chelsea. He’s always maintained the desire to stay here and make it at Chelsea, and he’s continued to prove that in recent seasons.”
