Real Madrid and Marco Asensio have failed to find an agreement over a new contract and the attacker is now expected to leave the club at the end of June.
Asensio has been one of the world’s most recognisable attackers since he has been in the books of Madrid, having joined them from Real Mallorca.
The attacker has won three league crowns and three Champions League titles and leaves them as one of the world’s finest goalscorers, thanks to his knack for scoring stunning goals.
There had been hopes that he would extend his stay in Madrid eventually as the club and his entourage engaged in different contract talks in the last few months.
However, The Athletic reveals the attacker is now set to leave the club after both parties failed to reach an agreement, and he could head for the Premier League.
Arsenal and Aston Villa are reportedly leading the race to add him to their squad as a free agent when the season comes to an end in the next few weeks.
Premier League fans would be delighted to see another world-class talent turning up for a team in the competition.
