More revelations have emerged about what happened at Bayern Munich before Julain Nagelsmann was sacked.
The 35-year-old German was sacked last Friday after what was termed by the clubs chief as a loss of squad identity.
Before he was dismissed, the German led Bayern to the Champions League last eight, winning eight consecutive games. He also left the Bavarians sitting second in the Bundesliga table, just one point behind Borussia Dortmund.
After his exit, there were widespread reports that he was sacked partly due to a falling out with his players and some of the club’s management members.
However, several players came out to debunk that news, with Leon Goretzka and Joshua Kimmich claiming that the coach never lost the dressing room.
However, according to a report by the German publication BILD, Nagelsmann did have a few altercations with some of his players, most notably former Liverpool forward Sadio Mane.
The report says the Senegal international and the former coach were reportedly involved in a furious dressing room row before the manager’s sacking.
The altercation came because Mane was unhappy with his lack of game time at the club after his return from injury and angrily confronted Nagelsmann about it in front of the rest of the squad.
The 30-year-old was unhappy at only playing eight minutes against Paris Saint-Germain in the second leg of their round of 16 Champions League tie and made his feelings clear after the game.
According to BILD, Bayern players felt that Nagelsmann looked intimidated by Mane during the incident, which shocked the dressing room.
Meanwhile, Bayern has since moved on from Nagelsmann, with former Chelsea and Borussia Dortmund coach Thomas Tuchel already in place.
On Saturday, the German will begin his tenure at the Allianz Arena with a crunch clash against current Bundesliga leaders Borussia Dortmund.
