Eric Ten Hag and Manchester United are reportedly in the advanced stages of signing PSG superstar Neymar in the summer.
The Dutch manager was criticized for a lack of signings in the January transfer market. He now seems to be making up for lost time. In addition to Adrien Rabiot and a potential Harry Kane signing, Ten Hag likes the thought of Neymar playing for United next season.
To convince the Brazilian, it is been reported that his compatriot, Casemiro is involved in the matter.
But there is one big problem. the Brazilian signed a new contract with PSG that will expire in 2027. This would mean that if Manchester United were to finally buy the 31-year-old, they would have to pay PSG a big sum of transfer fee.
Remember, Neymar is expensive. PSG bought him for €222 million from Barcelona back in 2017 so they would want a return on that.
This is where the other aspects come into play. Neymar no longer adores the French League. The fan of the club is also a massive problem. And with PSG evolving their team around Kylian Mbappe once Lionel Messi leaves this summer, there is no point for the Brazilian to stay.
Clubs that are previously linked to Neymar are Newcastle United and Chelsea. However United seem to be the more suitable option because of Champions League football and the fact that they can afford him.
Neymar has been unable to perform to his full glory his entire career, and this season wasn’t an exception. The PSG superstar received a bad injury this season that led to surgery. Despite not playing most of the campaign, Neymar still managed to score 18 goals with 17 assists in all competitions this season.
