Manchester United is set to hijack Joao Felix‘s transfer to Chelsea as he spends this second half of the season on loan at Stamford Bridge.
United competed with the Blues for his signature in January when he was made available for a loan transfer by Atletico Madrid, but Chelsea met the demands of Atleti and the player, and he moved to Stamford Bridge.
This has been a tough campaign for the Blues, but Felix has stood out and the Premier League side could make the move permanent when the term ends.
However, it would not be easy because United remains interested as they search for a new goal-scorer.
AS claims the Red Devils are in the market for a new attacker and Felix is on their list.
Although Victor Osimhen and Harry Kane are also on the list, Felix remains a player Erik Ten Hag likes and will do his best to add him to his squad.
United has the financial power to compete with Chelsea and could be in an even better position if the club is taken over by one of the prospective buyers bidding to take control from the Glazers family.
Felix has scored just twice for the Blues in the league, but that is partly because Graham Potter’s side hasn’t been in top form in the last few weeks.
When the team’s overall performance improves, we expect Felix to score more goals as well. However, whether that happens or not, the report adds that any buyer must be prepared to pay around £80 million to add him to their group.
This fee might seem too much, but Felix is just 23, and Atleti paid €120 million to add him to their group from Benfica, so he is a valuable player to the Spanish side.
