According to reports, Zinedine Zidane declined a two-year contract worth €150 million from Al-Nassr to work under Cristiano Ronaldo again. In the summer, the company will start looking for a new manager.
During the season, Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr cut ties with Rudi Garcia. Since then, Dinko Jelicic has served as the team’s interim manager.
A few well-known figures, like Jose Mourinho and Zinedine Zidane, were mentioned as potential coaches for Al-Nassr in the upcoming campaign. But according to Santo Aouna, Zidane declined the opportunity.
Under former Madrid manager Zidane, Cristiano Ronaldo has an outstanding track record. The middle of the 2015–16 season saw Rafael Benitez’s dismissal, and the Frenchman took over as manager of Real Madrid. Under the Frenchman, Ronaldo won three consecutive UEFA Champions League championships and finished as the competition’s leading scorer each time.
The Portuguese has played 114 games under the coaching of the French legend, notching 112 goals and 30 assists.
If Al-Nassr doesn’t win the Saudi Pro League, they will be without a trophy this year. They are six points behind league leaders Al-Ittihad with 63 points after 28 games.
