Liverpool youngster Ben Doak collapsed on the pitch during their UEFA Youth League game against Sporting Lisbon this afternoon.
The youngster had contested a ball with an opponent and seemed to come off worse. He attempted to continue playing, but couldn’t and collapsed to the ground, which sparked worrying scenes.
Medics rushed to the pitch after the referee suspended the game and the 17-year-old was attended to before play could continue.
Doak eventually stood up, but he did not continue the game and was replaced immediately as the young Reds would go on to lose the game 1-0.

The incident occurred just six minutes into the game and it meant the Liverpool U19 side lost one of their best talents early in the game.
Doak joined Liverpool from Celtic in the summer as one of the highest-rated youngsters back in his country and has already played in two league games for the senior side.
The entire club will be worried about the incident and would be eager to know the extent of the impact the clash had on him.
As a young lad, the club will pay special attention to his health and we do not expect to see him back on the pitch soon unless he did not suffer any serious problem.
