Lionel Messi will have the word “GOAT” printed on his shirt following a reported €50 Million shirt deal being signed with a lifestyle brand by Paris Saint-Germain. Known by many as the greatest of all time, the Argentinian legend will now have the term embroidered on his sleeves for PSG.
Paris Saint Germain has agreed to a mouth-watering €50 Million commercial sponsorship deal with GOAT, which offers a platform for sneakers, apparel, and accessories. This is a three-year deal that will start from the next season. The deal means players will have the brand logo, GOAT, printed on the club’s shirt sleeves.
A PSG press release from Marc Armstrong, Chief Partnerships Officer at PSG said: “We are delighted to welcome GOAT into the Paris Saint-Germain F.C. family with this partnership that will see them join the exclusive roster of club partners present on our iconic jerseys.
“GOAT is a perfect fit for the club and further supports our position as a leading global sports and lifestyle icon for fans all over the world. Together we will develop exciting and creative experiences to connect with supporters everywhere.”
Eddy Lu, who is the Co-Founder and CEO of GOAT Group, added: “Paris Saint-Germain is one of the most influential clubs in the world and we’re excited to partner with them as we continue to build our global community.
“We’re not only bringing together two leading lifestyle brands but uniting a community of athletes, creatives and fans around the world. This partnership plays to each other’s strengths, with innovative collaborations in the months and years to come.”
This is a move that is sure to anger Manchester United star Cristiano Ronaldo, as he is the long-term rival of Lionel Messi for the GOAT status.
Do you think this move has anything to do with Lionel Messi or is it just merely a PSG brand deal?
