March 24, 2023

In December, Lionel Messi completed his childhood dream of winning the FIFA World Cup with Argentina after leading Argentina to their first World Cup since 1986.

After the win, the scenes were mad in Buenos Aires as fans went wild with pure excitement and joy. The streets were still packed the following morning at 4 am, when the squad returned from Qatar, causing a winning parade before the official event.

Lionel Messi even found it difficult to get back into his home in Rosario, as fans swarmed his home to catch a glimpse of the World Cup winner.

He went back home on Thursday night for the national team’s first match since the World Cup, a friendly match against Panama.

The team that defeated France on penalties in the final game lined up with Messi again serving as captain. As fireworks went off, the crowd performed an exceptionally moving rendition of the national anthem, which had the PSG star in tears.
