Lionel Messi pulled off a spectacular ‘no-look assist’ to set up Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappe for his side’s sensational solo winner on Saturday.
Just days after their embarrassing defeat to Bayern Munich in the UEFA Champions League, Paris Saint Germain traveled to the Stade Francis-Le Ble for their Ligue 1 clash with Brest.
PSG were expected to dominate the game from the opening whistle. However, that was not the case. The game turned into a hard fought battle, with both sides creating clear cut chances.
Carlos Soler fired Christophe Galtier’s men into a first-half lead, only for Franck Honorat to pull back an equalizer for Brest only six minutes later.
However, the Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe due proved to be a get out of jail card for the French champions yet once again.
In the 90th minute, Lionel Messi produced an outrageous assist for Kylian Mbappe to seal the deal for PSG. The Argentinian maestro got the ball at the halfway line and split the Brest defense with a through ball on his first touch.

On Messi’s “no-look” through ball, Mbappe pounced and raced towards the Brest box for a one-on-one opportunity with Marco Bizot of the Netherlands.
The 24-year-old French attacker skillfully manoeuvred the ball around the helpless Bizot before slipping it into the empty Brest goal.
Fans reaction to the Lionel Messi assist
“Messi makes things look so easy,” a Twitter user posted in response to the assist.
Another tweeted: “Wow, that was too easy. Messi [is the GOAT].”
While a third commented: “Brilliant one-touch assist from Messi to Mbappe.”
