“Lionel Messi knows that Barça’s doors are open” – Barcelona President Joan Laporte

March 25, 2023

Nothing hurts more as a Barcelona fan than seeing their beloved leave the club. May it be Ronaldino in 2008, Xavi in 2015, or even Iniesta in 2018.

But when Lionel Messi parted ways with Barca in 2021, it hit differently. And on top of that, seeing how it all happened in front of our eyes was hurtful.

One side of the Culers was teary-eyed and the rest were bursting with anger. And it fumed even more with Lionel Messi’s final press conference where he stated,

“The report that I asked for 30% more is a lie. It’s a lie. I offered to reduce my contract by 50%, and then they didn’t ask me for anything else”

“I did everything I could to stay and it was not possible to stay.”

FC Barcelona President Joan Laporte became an enemy.

Now 2 years later even though La Pulga hasn’t won major trophies at the club level, he has won a little trophy called the world cup. With the famous win over France in the world cup final, Leo is all over the news once again.

Just a few hours ago, FC Barcelona president Joan Laporte spoke about a potential return for Lionel Messi at Camp Nou. This came out from an interview that Laporte gave to The business and money behind sports YouTube channel hours ago.

Both Fabrizio Romano and Spanish journalist Toni Juanmartí broke the news and since then, it’s been all over the place.

Here is what Leporte had to say,

“Messi knows that Barça’s doors are open, we will see — I have to find a way to improve the current relationship between Messi and Barça”

Apart from the president, former teammates are completely open to having him back in Barcelona once again.

Sergi Roberto, Marc-Andre ter Stegen, and Ronald Araújo have all lauded the fact that Messi belongs to Barcelona and should definitely return.

As the season is coming to a close and so is Lionel Messi’s contract at PSG. Reports are circulating that the little magician might not be open to renewing his contract.

All the major clubs in Europe and the expensive ones around the world want a piece of the Argentinian. Inter Miami and Al-hilal have both attracted public proposals for the world champion.

Would Lionel Messi sign for a new destination or come back home, we’ll just have to wait till the end of the season.

What do you think where will the Argentinian go next? Let us know in the comments.
