Lionel Messi is set to join Cristiano Ronaldo in the Saudi Pro League as a new report reveals the attacker is the subject of a transfer interest from Al-Hilal.
Saudi Arabian clubs have been making some ambitious signings recently, most notably, Ronaldo’s move to Al Nassr at the start of this year.
Messi has long been linked with a move to the Middle Eastern country, but PSG continued to try to get him on a new deal.
His current contract expires at the end of this season and the French club have been speaking with his father and agent, Jorge, but progress has not been made.
This means Messi is set to leave them in the summer as a free agent and he might just leave the European continent altogether.
A report on Marca claims his father has been in Riyadh for some days now and is negotiating a new big-money move for his superstar son.
It claims if the deal works out, Messi is in line to make £194m-a-season, which will be more than the £175m-a-year Ronaldo receives at Al Nassr and will continue to spark the debate over which of the superstars is the best player in the history of football.
PSG will continue to hold talks with the FC Barcelona legend and they believe they can get him on a new contract soon enough.
Do you think this is the right time for Messi to leave Europe?
