Lionel Messi asks Barcelona to sign his “personal bodyguard” who he won the World Cup with

Lionel Messi‘s return to Barcelona is edging ever closer as the attacker runs into more trouble at PSG, where he is expected to leave soon.

The French club has just suspended him for two weeks after he travelled to Saudi Arabia at the weekend despite his side’s embarrassing loss to lowly Lorient in the league.

Messi was fulfilling a part of his duty as an ambassador to the country, but he was reportedly asked not to go, and now it seems inevitable he will leave PSG.

As he prepares to make his next move, he has been making some demands on Barcelona ahead of his return to the club and the latest is to ask for a national teammate to join him in Catalonia.

A report claims Messi has asked Barcelona to sign Atletico Madrid’s Rodrigo de Paul as a condition for him to accept a return to the club.

De Paul was always following Messi around during the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and was named his personal bodyguard because of this. They both share a very close bond and Messi wants to end his playing days with the midfielder beside him at the club level.

De Paul moved to Spain in 2021 and still has three years left on his current deal at Atletico Madrid, which could make it easy for Barcelona to sign him.
