Lionel Messi gifts 35 PERSONALIZED GOLD IPHONES worth £175,000 to the World Cup winning team and staff

March 7, 2023

According to a report from the Sun, Argentinian football star Lionel Messi has made a heartwarming gesture towards his Argentinian team-mates after winning the FIFA World Cup 2022. Winning the World Cup was, no doubt, the happiest moment of Messi’s football career.

To celebrate this monumental achievement, Lionel Messi teamed up with IDesign Gold to treat the whole team and staff to 24 carat gold plated Apple mobile devices. Each iPhone 14 was engraved with the player’s name, number, and the Argentinian logo.

A source told the site that, “Lionel wanted to do something special and blingy to celebrate his proudest moment. He got in touch with entrepreneur Ben Lyons and they came up with the design together.”

Ben Lyons, the CEO of IDesign Gold, had this to say about Messi and his brilliant gesture:

“Lionel is not only the Goat but he’s one of IDESIGN GOLD’s most loyal customers and got in touch with us a couple of months after the World Cup final. He said he wanted a special gift for all the players and staff to celebrate the amazing win but didn’t want the usual gift of watches. So, I suggested gold iPhones inscribed with their names and he loved the idea.”

Lionel Messi played a massive part in the World Cup triumph, scoring seven goals and was named the Player of the tournament.

After wining the FIFA ‘The Best’ award last week, the Argentinian star was all praise for his team-mates:

“It’s amazing. It’s been a tremendous year, and it’s an honor for me to be here and win this award. Without my teammates, I wouldn’t be here. I achieved the dream I had been hoping for so long. Very few people can achieve that, and I have been lucky to do so.” he said via the BBC.
