April 8, 2023

Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti laughs off at reporters for questioning if he’ll leave Real Madrid at the end of the season.

The rumors began when the 4-time Champions League winning manager had a below-par season in the Laliga with Real Madrid. The rumor suddenly took shape when it was reported that the Brazilian FA is hoping to get Ancelotii to coach the international team.

Brazilian players like Ederson pressing the idea only added fuel to the rumors.

In his recent press conference ahead of Real Madrid’s fixture against Villareal Carlo Ancelotti was hit with some questions the manager wasn’t expecting to get asked.

The manager was asked if the rumors surrounding him leaving Real Madrid at the end of the season really surprised him. The classy Italian replied to the journalist in the finest way possible.

“After 1,272 games I don’t have to prove anything to anyone. everyone is free to opine or evaluate as they wish. If I have managed 1,272 games, I don’t know how many press conferences I have given… probably double, that’s for certain. You can imagine, so leave me alone today.”

Ahead of their match on Saturday, Carlo Ancelotti provided good news that most of his squad is fit and ready to play although Ferland Mendy’s fitness is still a concern.

The manager helped Real Madrid clinch the Champions League title in a dramatic campaign last year. The Spanish giant went on to beat PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City in the knockout round and then went on to beat the favorites Liverpool in the final.

Anceloti’s 22-23 season will be defined based on his performance in the Champions League. The Los Blancos have drawn against Chelsea. They will make sure to one up against them when Chelsea arrives at Santiago Bernabeu on 12 April.
