Right after last night’s Premier League fixture, where Kevin De Bruyne and Co. battered the league leader Arsenal in a 4-1 win, the Belgium midfielder just edged out Lionel Messi as the leading European player with the most assist in the top 5 leagues.
Kevin De Bruyne is having a scintillating season. The Belgian international has led Manchester City to the Champions League semi-final, the FA Cup final, and a possible Premier League title.
De Bruyne is the only City player who really knows how to make use of the Norwegian monster Haaland, as the 22-year-old striker has scored eight times in the Premier League with the help of Kevin De Bruyne’s assist. He is now leading the European league charts with 15 assists.
In overall competitions, Kevin De Bruyne has assisted Erling Haaland on 10 separate occasions.
At the other end of Europe, PSG forward Lionel Messi is in second spot with 14 assists in Ligue 1. The 35-year-old despite being rumored to be leaving the club is having a phenomenal season as he keeps getting the ball past the net as well as providing assists to his teammate Kylian Mbappe.
