Liverpool faces a summer of a serious rebuild after they underperformed in the Premier League and other competitions this season.
The Reds nearly won four trophies last term, having won the FA Cup and League Cup, and reached the final of the Champions League while taking the Premier League title race to the campaign’s final day.
The Reds then lost the likes of Sadio Mane and Takumi Minamino in the last summer transfer window but failed to replace the departed stars adequately.
This has made them poor in every competition this season, and a summer rebuild is inevitable, but can they land all their targets.
One man on their radar is Josko Gvardiol of RB Leipzig as they seek to fix their leaky defence, with Joel Matip expected to leave the club when the campaign finishes.
However, a report on The Athletic claims Liverpool will struggle to sign the Croatian because of their interest in Jude Bellingham.
Liverpool must rebuild their midfield before next season, with the likes of Arthur Melo, Naby Keita, and Alex Oxlade Chamberlain all leaving the club.
This puts the Reds in an emergency in midfield, and they are keen on getting their hands on Bellingham.
The report claims because of their interest in the Englishman, they will struggle to get funds for a move for Gvardiol, with the England World Cup star expected to cost more than £100 million.
Gvardiol will also cost a lot of money, if not the same fee and Liverpool cannot spend that much on two players in the same transfer window.
