Barcelona legend Jordi Alba is set to join MLS club Inter Miami where he could play alongside former teammate Lionel Messi.
Jordi Alba’s seemingly perfect love story with FC Barcelona came to a surprising end after the club told the left back to accept contract termination. Alba was contracted at Barca till 2024. He alongside Sergio Busquets came to a mutual agreement with the club that they will leave once the season 22/23 ends.
The Spanish international has been silent on his next move since his Barcelona exit. However, reports have come out that Inter Miami has approached Jordi Alba for a potential reunion with Lionel Messi.
As per Romano, Jordi Alba is in ‘active negotiations’ with the MLS club,
“Understand Jordi Alba is now in active negotiations to join Inter Miami — it’s a concrete possibility.”
Fabrizio Romano confirmed that Alba also has offers from Saudi clubs to join SPL.
“Alba has two proposals from Saudi, he has made no final decision yet. Player will assess his options and decide in the next weeks.”
There are a number of Messi’s former teammates who are rumored to join him at Inter Miami. Luis Suarez and Sergio Busquets are among them.
Jordi Alba could make a potential move to MLS but it is unlikely that he’ll get the same treatment financially that David Beckham awarded Messi. This might cloud his judgment and he might accept the Saudi offer.
