Frenkie de Jong REJECTS Manchester United again

March 18, 2023

Barcelona midfielder Frenkie de Jong is set to turn down an approach from Manchester United again after they pursued him for much of last summer.

The Dutchman is a player Erik Ten Hag is keen to be reunited with after their time together at Ajax and United negotiated fruitlessly for his signature in the last summer transfer window.

The midfielder insisted he loved Barcelona and wants to remain even though reports claim they owe him some wages and the Catalans were ready to lose him.

De Jong stayed in Catalonia for another season, but United’s interest remains intact, and they are expected to try again to add him to their squad.

However, the midfielder has not changed his mind and remains sure that he will be on the books of Barca if they want him to stay, in a bitter blow to the Premier League club again.

Speaking about his future in a recent interview, De Jong reiterated that he wants to remain in Camp Nou for many more seasons because he is living his dream by playing for Barca.

When speaking about the proposed new Camp Nou, he said via the Daily Mail: ‘I hope I will play at the new Camp Nou. Barcelona is the club of my dreams, so I plan to stay for many years.

‘It looks like it’s going to be nice. The plans for the stadium are very good’.
