The FIFA World Cup 2022 in Qatar is right around the corner, with less than a month to go for the first ever winter edition of the tournament.

A total of 32 teams, initially split into eight groups of four, will compete for the biggest award in the sport of football. The defending champions France are the favorites to win the competition, alongside Brazil. It has been 60 years since a nation last won successive World Cups, but France will not be paying much attention to that.

The 32 teams competing in the FIFA World Cup have been divided into 8 groups of four, as follows:

  • Group A: Qatar, Ecuador, Senegal, Netherlands
  • Group B: England, Iran, USA, Wales
  • Group C: Argentina, Saudi Arabia, Mexico, Poland
  • Group D: France, Australia, Denmark, Tunisia
  • Group E: Spain, Costa Rica, Germany, Japan
  • Group F: Belgium, Canada, Morocco, Croatia
  • Group G: Brazil, Serbia, Switzerland, Cameroon
  • Group H: Portugal, Ghana, Uruguay, South Korea

FIFA World Cup 2022 Venues

The 64 games to be played at the World Cup will be held at 8 stadiums. Even though the tournament has been moved to winter, the heat is still expected to be damaging. Thus, each venue will be equipped with cooling systems, with some even possessing outdoor air-conditioning.

Where To Watch the FIFA World Cup?

As far as the UK is concerned, 64 matches will be available to watch on free-to-air television, with the matches split between ITV and BBC. As for the United States, the games will be on the Fox Sports network as well as on the DAZN mobile app.

In India, the World Cup will be on television on the Star Sports network.
