FC Barcelona will do everything they can to sign Robert Lewandowski in the summer, as the Polish star’s deal in Germany is running out next year.
Barcelona have been in the lookout for the Bayern Munich striker for nearly a year now. Now, that Lewandowski’s contract at the Allianz Arena coming to an end in 2023, the Spanish giants are preparing to make a move for him in the summer.
According to many reports in Germany, the star striker’s agent will sit down with Bayern Munich this week to discuss a contract renewal. However, it is becoming very unlikely that Bayern will accept his demands despite his brilliant performances for the club.
After Lionel Messi was forced out of the club, FC Barcelona have lacked a real sense of leadership as well as big match experience in their squad. The Barcelona hierarchy feel that a big name as well as a leader is needed to guide the team to one of the top clubs in Europe.
As reported by Sport, the Catalans are willing to offer Robert Lewandowski a three-year contract, according to his demands. However, they will need to reach an agreement with Bayern Munich for the transfer fee of the 33 year old striker.
Robert Lewandowski is currently the second highest goal scorer of all time in the Bundesliga with 309 goals in 379 appearances.
Bayern Munich have already made it clear that they have no intentions of letting Lewandowski leave the club, even though his contract will be running out at the end of next season.
