Cristiano Ronaldo is stuck in a mess after his fans found out that the superstar unfollowed his Portugal teammate Bernardo Silva once he chose Lionel Messi as the favorite to win Ballon d’Or this year.
Bernardo Silva and Cristiano Ronaldo are true compatriots. Despite always being on opposite ends in club competitions, Silva has had nothing but respect for his fellow international teammate.
But it has changed with one controversial opinion.
Bernardo Silva reportedly told L’Equipe that Lionel Messi is definitely one of the favorites to win Ballon d’Or this year.
He said that Messi will be up against the winner of the Champions League, which can either be Erling Haaland or Vinicius Jr.
“If Haaland wins the league and the CL, you can put him in the Ballon d’Or discussion, and you can also talk about Vini Jr.”
He also added, that despite the young pair accomplishing a lot this season, he would still side with PSG star Lionel Messi.
“if Madrid win the CL, but in general, it is between Messi and the winner of the champions, and so far, I will give it to Messi.”
Silva’s comments seem to have rubbed Cristiano Ronaldo the wrong way. Fans have identified that the Al Nassr star unfollowed his compatriot on Instagram for choosing Lionel Messi.
It started a never-ending debate online as a number of fans suspect that the 5 time Ballon d’Or winner never actually followed Bernardo Silva in the first place.
