In Monday’s 3-1 victory over Tajik team Istiklol at home for Al-Nassr in Riyadh, Cristiano Ronaldo scored his first goal in the AFC Champions League.
In his debut AFC Champions League match against Iranian team Persepolis in Tehran, which Al-Alami won 2-0, the all-time leading scorer in the UEFA Champions League (140 goals) went scoreless.
He didn’t wait long, though, to make his mark in the Asian continental tournament by scoring his team’s equalizer after Senin Sebai of Istiklol had given them an unexpected lead in the 44th minute.
Cristiano Ronaldo’s second attempt, which came after his first effort within the congested Istiklol area was blocked, was successful, as it was chipped over the opposing custodian with his left foot.

Then, in a span of five minutes, Talisca, Ronaldo’s attacking partner, scored twice to seal the victory.
With their second victory, Luis Castro’s team leads Group E with six points, three more than Persepolis, who won 1-0 at Qatari team Al Duhail and are currently in second position.
