Al Nassr star Cristiano Ronaldo is under fire as the Saudis call for the Portuguese to be deported over a humiliating gesture towards the Al-Hilal crowd.
After the Saudi Pro League fixture where Al-Nassr saw an embarrassing defeat 2-0 against rival Al Hilal, Cristiano Ronaldo was caught on camera holding his genitals as he disrespected the crowd chanting Lionel Messi’s name.
Since then, the global superstar has attracted massive fire on social media. Fans want the 5 time Ballon d’Or winner to either get deported from Saudi Arabia or face a severe ban in the coming games.
Saudi lawyer Nouf bin Ahmed recently spoke on the incident and urged the management to take serious actions against the footballer. While addressing on his social media Nouf bin Ahmed said:
“It is considered a crime of public dishonor, and it is one of the crimes that entails arrest and deportation if committed by a foreigner,”
The Saudi lawyer has shown intent that she’ll go to the Saudi Prosecutor’s Office herself in order to file a complaint for “crime of public indecency”.
On the other hand, Al-Nassr stays true to defend their valuable star. The club has stressed the opinion that Cristiano Ronaldo was injured and in pain hence the genital grab. In their statement, the club said:
“Ronaldo suffers from an injury. His challenge with Gustavo Cuellar, the Al-Hilal player, started with a blow in a very sensitive area. This is confirmed information. As for the fans’ explanations, they are free to think whatever they want.”
According to Al-Nassr, the injury came from the challenge Cristiano made to Gustavo Cuellar, an Al-Hilal midfielder. Ronaldo went all crazy on the midfielder with a WWE-like headlock that led the referee to book the player.
