Cristiano Ronaldo delights Saudi fans by performing famous ‘ISLAMIC Sujud bow’ after scoring screamer for Al Nassr

May 24, 2023

On Tuesday night, Cristiano Ronaldo scored an incredible goal in the 59th minute to cap off an incredible comeback and keep the club’s title aspirations alive.

With the current leaders narrowly defeating basement club Al Batin 1-0, a loss for Al Nassr would have all but ended their pursuit of the domestic championship.

And defeat appeared to be in the cards as the third-placed Al Shabab found themselves down 2-0 to Al Nassr at home after 40 minutes thanks to a brace from Cristian Guanca.

When Talisca cut the deficit in half just before halftime, Cristiano Ronaldo and company responded nearly immediately.

Abdulrahman Ghareeb’s close-range goal six minutes after the break gave Al Nassr the equaliser. Then, just before the hour mark, the 38-year-old former Real Madrid and Manchester United star reversed the years when he left two Al Shabab defenders in his wake before curling the ball home from the edge of the box to score his 14th goal since moving to the Middle East following the World Cup.

The home crowd erupted in hysterical celebrations, which were made even more joyous by Ronaldo’s Sujud, which is the act of making a low bow or prostration to Allah while facing the qiblah (direction of the Kabba at Mecca).
