Cristiano Ronaldo is set to BREAK another record

March 22, 2023

Breaking records has now become a habit for Cristiano Ronaldo, and the attacker is set to break another one if he plays for Portugal in their game against  Liechtenstein tomorrow.

New manager Roberto Martinez has selected Ronaldo even though he plays at Al Nassr in the Saudi Pro League now and believes the attacker still has a considerable contribution to make to his team before he retires from professional football.

If Ronaldo steps on the field for that game tomorrow, the attacker will break the FIFA record for appearances for a national team, which he currently shares with  Kuwait attacker Badr AlMutawa.

They both have 196 caps for their respective countries at the moment, but Ronaldo will break it if he features in the game to set another new record, as the attacker continues to play non-stop, reports the Daily Mail.

Ronaldo is arguably the greatest player ever to play the game, and it is surprising that some people still do not give him enough respect.

However, if you find anyone who does not believe Ronaldo is the greatest ever player, that person is very likely a Lionel Messi fan and will not share that accolade with another player.

Ronaldo is already 38 and made his debut for Portugal in 2003. One hundred ninety-six caps later, the ex-Manchester United forward has already scored 118 goals for his country, a record on its own.

If he keeps going strong, there is a good chance he will be in the Portugal squad at Euro 2024 because Martinez has shown in the past that he will call up any player who shows he is good enough to play for his team, regardless of age.
