When Ronaldo turned down Manchester City’s offer to transfer to Old Trafford in the summer, you wondered whether it would be a turning point in the Premier League title fight.

After finishing second the year before, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side splurge out on Raphael Varane, Jadon Sancho, and, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo – the greatest goal-scorer in history.

Ronaldo has been linked with a transfer away from Old Trafford due to his desire to play in the Champions League. Cristiano Ronaldo is currently the top goal scorer in the history of the Champions League and he wants to play in the competition every season.

Despite Manchester United’s poor performance, Ronaldo managed to score 24 goals across all competitions. For the fifth year in a row, the Red Devils has failed to win a single trophy.

Manchester United may potentially miss out on the Europa League if they lose their last Premier League match. And for Cristiano Ronaldo, it will be a disgrace to play in Europa League, after getting so much success in the Champions League.

Despite his growing age, Cristiano Ronaldo remains a power in European competitions, which is why a number of teams have indicated an interest in signing him. David Beckham, a former Manchester United star, has stated his wish for the Portuguese to stay at the club.

CR7 is the best player Man Utd have at the moment. They must do everything to keep him. He should be given the armband so he can be the leader and bring the team together in hard times. He needs to show more leadership in this team as one of the most experienced players.

He is Overrated. Man U need new young talents and It will take a few years to get at the top and Ronaldo could play a more senior role in the process. So he is still an asset but he is not the future of Man U.

MU should do like AC Milan and start from the bottom, as long as, however, they have somebody like Paolo Maldini, the best number 3 player in world soccer history, ever, with keen eyes for some of the best deals around. Maybe MU could keep Ronaldo in more or less the same role as AC did with Ibra. To rally around and jump-start a levelling up. MU should not bother with buying the most expensive players in the world but the most important it can afford in the particular roles it seeks to improve. A keen eye for cheap new talent is better than a multiple-injury old name full of glory passe’, only really worth buying for merchandising with nothing left on for the pitch. I think AC Milan has been a sleeping giant these past 10 years due to a multiplicity of considerations. Now that it has been revived, the sky is the limit. I expect AC Milan with a turnover in the top 10 clubs of the world in the next 5 years. Presently they are way down the list.
