Tuesday’s hard-fought Saudi Pro League match saw Al-Nassr defeat Al-Shabab thanks in large part to a fantastic goal from Cristiano Ronaldo.

With only a few games left in the season, the forward curled a shot in from the edge of the box to give his team a 3-2 lead after they had fallen behind 2-0.

Cristian Guanca’s penalty kick gave Al-Shabab the lead against Ronaldo’s team in the 25th minute, and the forward increased the advantage shortly before halftime as the hosts’ title aspirations appeared to be all but over.

However, they recovered when Talisca, Ronaldo’s striking partner, scored just before halftime to give Ronaldo and company some optimism.

The team meeting at halftime was clearly effective because Abdulrahman Ghareeb evened things up before the break and established his team as favourites to continue and win the game.

Then, just before the hour mark, Cristiano Ronaldo himself came forward to curl in his effort, sending his teammates and the home crowd into a frenzy and leading his team to a 3-2 victory.

Approximately 30 yards from the goal, the former Manchester United player picked up the ball and deflected a challenge from Al-Shabab full-back Fawaz Ali Marzouq Al Saqour Al Yami.

After dodging another defender, he curled his shot past Kim Seung-gyu to give his team the lead and score his 14th goal for Al Nassr.
