Manchester City has been drawn against Bayern Munich in the quarterfinals of the Champions as the competition gets close to its grand finale.
City has been trying to win it under Pep Guardiola since the Spaniard became their manager and the closest they have come is losing the 2021 final to Chelsea.
They will hope to go one better, but Bayern is arguably the best team in the competition this year, considering how they ruthlessly eliminated PSG in the last round.
England’s other competitor, Chelsea, has been drawn against Real Madrid who eliminated them from the competition last season.
The Spanish side is defending champions and the most successful club in the competition’s history. They beat Liverpool 6-2 on aggregate in the last round to reach the quarterfinals and love to face English opposition.
Red-hot Napoli will face fellow Italian side AC Milan in the quarterfinals as the likes of Victor Osimhen and Tanguy Ndombele dream of a league and Champions League double.
In the last draw of the quarter-finals, Inter Milan is paired with Benfica, meaning the Italian champions will face Portuguese opposition in consecutive matches in the competition.
They had beaten FC Porto in the round of 16 and will now face the team that embarrassed Juventus in the group stage. Perhaps they will get vengeance for their fellow Italian.
The winners of the Napoli/AC Milan and Inter Milan/Benfica games will face each other in the semifinal, meaning one Italian club could be guaranteed a spot in the final this season.
The winners of the Chelsea/Real Madrid and Bayern/Man City ties will meet in the other semi-final match. The four games are:
Real Madrid vs Chelsea
Inter Milan vs Benfica
Man City vs Bayern Munich
AC Milan vs Napoli
