Arsenal is set to hand Bukayo Saka a new deal worth £15 million a season as he continues to be their best player at the Emirates.
The Englishman has been arguably the most in-form player in Mikel Arteta’s squad over the last two seasons and he could end this term as a league winner, with the Gunners leading the standings by 8 points now.
The attacker’s contract was set to expire when next season ends and the Gunners have been in talks with his entourage over an extension for several months.
At the start of this season, Saka, William Saliba and Gabriel Martinelli are three players the Gunners were keen to get on a new deal. Martinelli has since put pen to paper on an extension, making them focus on the other two.
Saliba has been in superb form since making his debut for the club at the start of this season. However, Saka is the man the Gunners want to keep the most and they have been hard at work trying to get him on a new agreement.
They seem to have found some breakthrough, with a report on the Daily Mail reporting the attacker is set to put pen to paper on a new bumper deal that will see him become the club’s highest earner.
Arsenal will hand him the most lucrative deal in their history on £300,000-per-week, a wage fans will agree he deserves, considering how important he has been on their title challenge.
Saka has also been superb for the England national team and is one of the first names on Gareth Southgate’s team sheet nowadays.
