Manchester United CEO Richard Arnold has agreed to an £80m offer for Spurs striker Harry Kane.
As reported by Daily Star, the Manchester United hierarchy agrees with the manager Eric Ten Hag to sign Harry Kane in need to push for the Premier League title next season. Ten Hag believes the striker to be the last piece of the puzzle.
It is evident that United wants to be ahead of the race as the English goalscorer has been attracting bidders in the likes of Barcelona, Bayern Munch, and even Chelsea.
Harry Kane still has a year left on his Spurs contract. But as the North London club loses its manager once again in an underperforming season, the Englishmen will surely want to switch in order to win silverware.
There are no further discussions on who will become Spurs’ next manager. It will surely be the deal breaker for Kane and the North London club.
The Daily Star report also added:
‘He knows he is approaching the peak of his career and is running out of time to fulfill his ambition of playing more Champions League football and winning trophies.
‘Spurs chairman Daniel Levy hopes the manager he appoints to replace Antonio Conte will be a big enough name to persuade Kane to stay. But it’s understood Kane will once again push to leave the under-achieving London club and that United are his preferred choice.’
Ten Hag has previously signed Lisandro Martinez, Christian Eriksen, Antony, Casemiro, Tyrell Malacia, and Martin Dubravka to his squad. While the Dutchman has crowded the midfield and has plenty of defensive options, he still needs a world-class striker who can get him 20-30 goals per season.
Manchester United is reportedly targeting other striking options as well. Benefica’s Goncalo Ramos and Napoli’s Victor Osimhen are on top of the list.
For better or worse it is refreshing to see the Red Devils finally taking charge in the transfer market with a clear view of what they want. Whichever striker joins Old Trafford this summer will be coming to a side that is high on confidence and has a winning mentality.
Who do you think is the BEST Striking option for Manchester United?
And is £80m too low for Harry Kane or should United pitch that up?
