Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui is ready to force a move to Barcelona this summer, according to reports.
According to a report by the Spanish publication Mundo Deportivo via Sportskeeda, the defender is tired of being on the sidelines and wants to play regularly.
He believes he can get into Barca’s starting XI next season and will do everything he can to force the move to Catalonia a year after joining Bayern Munich.
Mazraoui joined the Bavarians last summer for a reported €20miilon deal from Ajax. Since then, he has made just 24 appearances for the club, with most coming from the bench.
Former manager Julian Negelsmann and current coach Thomas Tuchel have preferred Benjamin Pavard and Joao Cancelo over him.
The Morocco international recently admitted his disappointment and told Maximilian Koch in April:
“Of course, I am disappointed with my situation. I was a starter here before the World Cup. Now I’m fit and don’t get any game time. It’s too early to talk about my perspective, but not good.”
The defender also admitted that he was a transfer target for Barcelona, but he opted to join the Bundesliga side.
Speaking about joining the German champions, he said:
“Straight from the first discussions with FC Bayern, I had a good feeling, and I’m excited about joining one of the biggest clubs in Europe. FC Bayern have just become German champions for the 10th year in a row and will be among the contenders to win the Champions League again next season. I’ve chosen this club because I can win the biggest titles here.”
But it seems Mazraoui regrets his decision and will try to force a move to La Liga. Barcelona are reportedly interested in signing a right-back this summer, but it remains to be seen if they swoop for the 25-year-old Mazraoui.
