It is being reported that FC Barcelona has planned on selling midfielder Frank Kessie in hopes of signing Lionel Messi and Ilkay Gundogan.
Frank Kessie joined Barcelona in 2022 right after the Ivory Coast midfielder won the Scudetto with AC Milan. Now it is being reported by AS, that Kessie is one player Xavi Hernandes would have to sell this summer to manage the signings of Messi and Gundogan.
The Catalans are eager to bring in Lionel Messi and Gundogan for free as both stars will become free agents by the end of the season. We know from Barca president that they are looking forward to the return of their record goalscorer Lionel Messi and Ilkay Gundogan has been majorly linked with Camp Nou ever since it was revealed that a contract renewal might not be in place.
Kessie is however enjoying life in Spain. While speaking to Mundo Deportivo, the midfielder opened up on his love for Barcelona and how content he feels to be here at Camp Nou.
“Every player wants to play and when you do, you feel very happy. When you play, you have to give everything for the team, from the first to the last minute, and that’s what I try to do.”
Kessie added: “When you hear your name in another country, it means that you have proven everything there. That’s the first thing you have to see. That’s why I’m happy because many teams wanted me in Italy, but here I have signed a four-year contract and I am a Barca player. I have only been here for one season and I see myself here for many years.”
Another player Barcelona president Joan Laporta sadly wants out is Ansu Fati.
News previously came in that the Catalans have decided to sell their young prodigy Ansu Fati to make Lionel Messi’s signing more seamless.
