Aubameyang is set to move to a Serie A club

March 26, 2023

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been an inactive footballer at Chelsea for much of this season after Thomas Tuchel, who signed him, lost his job.

The attacker only left Barcelona because he wanted to be reunited with the German gaffer.

However, Chelsea replaced Tuchel with Graham Potter immediately after the former Arsenal captain moved back to London.

Potter has not fancied him and he hardly gets near the team in matches.

The Blues did not offload him in the January transfer window but could do so when this term ends.

Auba was recently snapped in the Barcelona dressing room after the latest El Classico game when he should have been helping Chelsea in England.

This hasn’t gone down well with the Blues hierarchy and could lead to his contract’s termination.

While Chelsea does not fancy Auba, several sides in Europe are interested in his signature, including Inter Milan.

The Nerazzurri borrowed Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea in the summer, but the Belgian could return to England at the end of this season.

A report on La Gazzetta dello Sport claims the Italians are now eyeing a swoop for Aubameyang.

It claims they could swap the Gabon star for Lukaku at the end of the term.

Aubameyang also has interest from Barcelona, who believes he might be a low-cost alternative for them on the market.

To simplify things for his suitors, Chelsea could realistically terminate Auba’s contract so they can save money by taking his vast wages off their bill.

Auba previously played for Inter’s rivals AC Milan and he might be able to get use to life back in Serie A.
