Barcelona’s financial state might get a little lift as their star forward Raphinha is attracting massive interest from the Premier League clubs. This time it is the EPL title challenger Arsenal.
Raphinha who has been on Barca’s wishlist to sell this summer is valued at €50-70 million approximately but Arsenal might go overboard to scare off the competition.
Remember Barcelona paid €48 million for the winger last year when he played for Leeds in the Premier League. So, €80 million is looking like an exciting proposition.
It is being reported by SPORT that the man on the job is Arsenal’s sporting director Edu who is said to be in ‘constant contact’ with Raphinha’s team.
However, Arsenal isn’t the only one interested in signing Raphinha. Interest from Chelsea and Newcastle has been well documented.
It was reported earlier that Newcastle United even placed an €80 million bid for the Brazilian.
The 26-year-old was on the list of players Arsenal wanted to sign last year. But the winger was snatched by the Blaugrana in the final moments. Now, Raphinha is among several Barcelona stars who are on their way out of Camp Nou as the club is looking to decrease their player wages.
And with their financial troubles from Laliga as well as the pursuit of signing former legend Lionel Messi, this amount(€80 million) would be the world for the Spanish giant.
Raphinha is currently getting up to speed in the Laliga charts. The winger did not have a steady start to the campaign, but with the injury to Ousmane Dembele, he has become the favorite of both Xavi and Barcelona fanbase.
