Arsenal is reportedly willing to pay up to £80 million to acquire Declan Rice from West Ham.
Rice is ‘nearly certain’ to leave West Ham this summer, according to The Guardian, who made this claim. Rice is reportedly on his way to Arsenal as Mikel Arteta and team search for a new midfielder.
It is believed that Rice is now determined to go on and play at a higher level because West Ham has been unable to persuade him that they are making progress.
Rice’s lack of conviction at this point is hard to blame considering West Ham’s transition from a Europa League final to a relegation fight.
Arsenal will be able to provide Rice with Champions League football, which is exactly what he wants, and they might even win the Premier League this summer.
The main objective for the summer for them is Declan Rice. Martin Zubimendi and Youri Tielemans are additional potential targets for the Gunners in the summer transfer market.
Rice is being pursued by both Chelsea and Man united, but the West Ham captain is rumoured to have made inquiries about what it’s like to represent the red part of London.
Although Granit Xhaka and Thomas Partey have been the primary starting pair this season, at the ages of 30 and 29, respectively, the Arsenal must start making long-term plans.
They have already bought Jorginho from Chelsea but it seems that it was made with fulfilling short term goals.
