Everything went wrong for Arteta and Co. as Arsenal faced an embarrassing defeat from Brighton in the Premier League. With this loss, the Gunners have placed Manchester City in a prime position to win the English Premier League title.
Two months ago, nobody except Gary Neville, would have believed that Arsenal would have been 4 points behind City in the last knockings of the league. But things have changed for the worse, not only is Manchester City in front of Arsenal by 4 points, but they also have a game in hand and relatively easier fixtures ahead.
Pep Guardiola was seen pointing at the fans that they only need 2 more wins after City defeated Everton today.
On the other hand, Mikel Arteta’s side presented a poor display when they faced Brighton & Hove Albion.
Despite having tons of close chances in the first half, Arsenal was totally flat once they came out of the tunnel after halftime.
Roberto De Zerbi’s Brighton took full advantage of that, Julio Enciso, Deniz Undav, and Pervis Estupiñán got onto the scoresheet to give Brighton the victory as well as a chance to qualify for European competitions next season.
This defeat makes Manchester City the favorite for winning the title. Fans took to Twitter to humiliate Arsenal for ‘bottling’ the title.
