According to Real Madrid’s new signing Arda Guler, when Los Blancos expressed interest in him, he did not even have to second-guess himself. He continued that other clubs had made proposals, but they were turned down in favor of a transfer to Santiago Bernabeu.
On Friday, July 7, Real Madrid introduced Guler after reaching an agreement with Fenerbahce. The kid will cost the Spanish powerhouses €20 million, plus a further €10 million in bonuses and 20% of future sale.
Arda Guler indicated in a media interview following his unveiling that he was weighing his choices this summer. But as soon as he learned that Real Madrid was interested, he stopped caring about the others.
“Many clubs wanted me but I decided to join Rėal Madrid. This is the biggest club in the world. I repeat that there have been many clubs that have presented their offers. But as soon as Real Madrid appeared, all of the others lost importance.”
In the past, players like Jess Vallejo, Mariano Dáz, Dani Ceballos, Asier Illarramendi, Nacho Fernández, Lassana Diarra, and Sami Khedira have donned the #24 shirt, which was presented to Guler at his debut.
According to reports, Luka Modric has already promised Arda Guler that he can have the #10 when the Croatian leaves the club next summer.
